We've implemented IFAB's innovations, and my team is doing an extraordinary job to speed up the game. Following FIFA and UEFA guidelines, we intervene with VAR for clear and obvious errors. The number of penalties awarded won't depend on us, but on the fouls committed. We awarded the first penalty after an on-field review because it was justified. We will strive to make fewer mistakes and correct them when they occur, but the spectacle must come first."
Orsato further explained, "We need to build referees' self-confidence to make them stronger. We work on errors, but they must have courage and not fear making mistakes. I always tell my own children this, not just the referees. I haven't seen anything I disliked. If the morning shows the day, we've seen some very beautiful matches that showcase Italian football abroad and make a good impression."
