Floro Flores: Emotional Encounter with Son and Admiration for Oulai
Antonio Floro Flores, the coach of Benevento, spoke at a press conference following their defeat against Fiorentina. He expressed his emotions about facing a team built for top Serie A positions. "It's a shame about the first goal, an individual error that's part of the process," Floro Flores stated, taking responsibility. "Having my son beside me was a unique emotion; he plays for Fiorentina, and I was moved." He also acknowledged the positive aspects of their approach, bringing their ideas to Florence. "Giving away a goal like that to a team like Fiorentina is disappointing, as is conceding 7 goals in two games. We need the right humility, but it's understandable; we're at the start of the championship."
When asked which Fiorentina player he would "steal," Floro Flores laughed and said, "Everyone." However, he singled out Oulai: "Oulai impressed me; I would gladly steal him because he is truly strong. But I am content with my own players. Fiorentina is a very strong team; they will fight for the Champions League."
Discussing a goal similar to one by Kean, Floro Flores noted the different characteristics: "We have very different attributes. He has impressive physical qualities, perhaps I was more technical. The goal came at our best moment; with these champions, if a ball falls in the box, they hurt you."
Reflecting on his son's career, Floro Flores shared, "I play a double role: coach and father. He chose Fiorentina because they know how to work with young players. Valentino Angeloni explained to me their desire to bring him to Florence, and then it will depend on my son if he arrives or not. I won't deny that a tear fell; I hope one day he can debut in front of these spectacular fans."
