It was specifically reported that the club's medical staff had tested the wrong knee during examinations, resulting in the French forward participating in three matches before the accurate diagnosis came to light.

While Real Madrid's medical team has faced scrutiny on previous occasions, Mbappe himself has now publicly refuted these specific claims. Addressing the media from France's training camp on Wednesday, he asserted that no such diagnostic error took place.

He directly stated, “The information suggesting Real Madrid examined the incorrect knee is completely false. Communication with the medical services has always been clear and consistent.”

Mbappe's knee issue has been a significant concern for him. The problem first surfaced in December, leading to a few weeks out of action before his return in January. However, his lack of full fitness became progressively apparent, prompting the decision in February for him to undertake a complete recovery, which he has now successfully achieved.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid views Mbappe's current presence with the French national team at their U.S. training camp as less than ideal. He only recently returned to play against Manchester City last week and has not yet been cleared to start for Alvaro Arbeloa's squad. A potential relapse during international duty would be catastrophic for Los Blancos at this critical juncture of the season.
