Man City's Reijnders set for £52m Saudi move
Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders is reportedly close to finalizing a significant transfer to Saudi Pro-League team Al-Qadsiah, with a reported fee of £52 million. This move comes less than a year after City acquired the Dutch international from AC Milan for £46.5 million.
Despite a promising start to his tenure at Manchester City, Reijnders found it challenging to make a substantial impact during Pep Guardiola's final season with the club. He contributed seven goals in 47 appearances.
The 28-year-old player was reportedly seen training separately from the main Manchester City squad on Thursday, indicating his imminent departure. He is expected to join a side now managed by former Liverpool, Celtic, and Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers.
Reijnders' potential exit appears to be part of a broader restructuring of Manchester City's midfield. This comes amidst ongoing speculation surrounding the future of key player Rodri and reported interest in Chelsea's Argentine international, Enzo Fernandez.
Reijnders was a participant in the Netherlands squad for the 2026 World Cup, featuring in three matches during the tournament. He started in group stage games against Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia but was unavailable for the last 32 match against Morocco, which the Netherlands ultimately lost on penalties.
